The Sopo Bicycle Co-op is a d.i.y. bicycle shop and lending library... or at least it will be, but we need your help! Founding members are committed to being all inclusive, fun-lovin bike freaks with a progressive outlook on life, transportation, and all the other stuff.
We will probably be located in the Little Five Points area, although we would like to infiltrate all of intown Atlanta (well.. at least what's south of Ponce, except maybe Piedmont Park.. we like that park). Fundraising ideas include kickball, band, and bike art parties; bike scavenger hunts; and vegan bake sales. Membership will be on a sliding-scale (as well as admission to fundraising events). Other fun event ideas include workshops on wheel building, fixie tricks, how to rock and roll, etc. Our immediate main goals are to build membership, find a location for the shop, fundraise, and buy tools that will be available for all members to use. Ride on.
